NHS England Guidance Consultation on Over the Counter (OTC) Prescribing

NHSE has launched a public consultation on reducing the prescribing of over-the-counter (OTC) medicines for minor and short-term health conditions which could save the NHS £136 million a year and encourage more people to self-care.

The next stage of the consultation is to ask Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), public and patients and any other relevant interest group or body for their opinion on the NHSE consultation guidance.  The national guidance consultation is open for 12 weeks from 20 December 2017 until 14 March 2018.
