NAPP is the only organisation for patient-led groups in general practice in the UK. It works to foster and promote effective patient participation and to embed the interests, perspectives and priorities of people using primary health and care services at the heart of all decision making, ensuring the quality and responsiveness of services and health outcomes for patients and the wider community continuously improve.
It works to support the establishment and maintenance of Patient Participation Groups (PPGs) by sharing good practice and providing support and advice to patients, practices, and health and care professionals to improve healthcare services, involve those who are difficult to reach, and ensure that patients are at the centre of all healthcare decisions.
Becoming a NAPP member provides practices with on-going support and information from a dedicated national body in the development and facilitation of their PPGs. On joining NAPP, PPGs receive access to a member’s only website as well as a package of resources that includes:
- A guide to Starting and Sustaining Successful PPGs
- Communications Toolkit
- ‘Top Tips’ leaflet
- 21 Ways to Make your Practice Thrive
