Greater Manchester Diabetic Eye Screening - stakeholder engagement

The Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership (GMHSCP) will go out to procurement for the Diabetic Eye Screening Programme in 2017.

In order to ensure services in GM continue to be delivered to a high standard and meet the needs of the population, the GMHSCP will be undertaking a patient and stakeholder participation exercise to ensure the people’s voice is at the heart of the commissioning process. As part of this process we welcome your valued feedback on Diabetic Eye Screening services within Greater Manchester.

It is not envisaged there will be any change to the method in which diabetic eye screening is currently provided across Greater Manchester (GM), residents in the South of Greater Manchester will continue to receive an optometrist based model, whilst residents of North Greater Manchester will continue to be screened using a community based model.

The feedback gathered from this stakeholder engagement will be made available to all potential bidders for the service to inform the procurement process. A copy of the report will also be available to stakeholders on request.

The survey will be open between Monday 3rd April 2017 – 2nd May 2017.

To take part in this engagement please complete the short survey via the link below, this should take no longer than five minutes.
